Just before the summer break from the agenda of trade fairs, Marchesini Group will be taking part in two of the most important packaging venues in Brazil and Mexico. Starting with FCE Pharma, from May 10th to 12th, at the Transamerica Expo Center in San Paolo and shortly after, from May 17th to 20th, the Group will be at Expopack, at the Expo Bancomer Santa Fe in Mexico City.
Skyepharma, a Company specialized in inhalation and oral drugs, chose MG2 to address its needs for production of pilot and clinical batches for its inhalation pharmaceutical product pipeline and collaborative projects with third parties. Planeta, MG2’s machine, was identified as the most effective solution due to its dosing accuracy and flexible format.

Interphex 2016: Marchesini Group to showcase Extrafill. The new monobloc unit integrated with a robotic gripper moves "just like a human hand"
The first major event in the United States for Marchesini Group in 2016 will be Interphex in New York from April 26th to April 28th (Booth No. 3125), the leading trade show for biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing solutions for the safe and cost-effective processing of all dosage forms for life-enhancing drugs.
At this year’s Pharmintech in Bologna the Romaco Group will show a flexible secondary and final packaging line from Romaco Promatic. The engineering specialists will also be demonstrating Romaco Innojet’s high-efficiency coating and granulation processes.
At Interphex, Optima Pharma will exhibit the OPTIMA H4 filling and closing machine. It is a system which covers a great number of diverse applications: Combining the ultimate in system flexibility with time and cost advantages, the OPTIMA H4 processes nested vials, syringes and cartridges. It can accommodate filling systems based on rotary dosing pumps, peristaltic filling and time-pressure filling. High-tech functions have been integrated into the modular type to further enhance the underlying flexibility of the machine. If necessary, a robot can open the tubs and remove the Tyvek paper, and this function has already been installed in the filling machine section, which saves space. Semi-automatic systems can also be integrated.
Following the acquisition of Medipac AB in November 2015, Romaco is now in a position to offer tube filling systems for effervescent tablets for the first time. The core competency: gentle filling of fragile effervescent tablets according to the rotation principle.
In 2015, when the Italian turnover of the packaging machinery industry hit 6.1 billion Euro, with exports earning 80% of the proceeds, the Marchesini Group recorded a rise of 9% in its turnover, moving up from 247 million Euro in 2014 to 270 million. This result replicates last year’s, when proceeds rose by 11% compared with 2013, which was certainly not expected considering the trend of the manufacturing market at that time. In 2015, orders for pharmaceutical and cosmetic packaging machines remained substantially stable.

From March 15th to 18th, the Marchesini Group will be at the most important packaging venue of the African continent, Propack Africa (Expo Centre of Nasrec, Johannesburg, Hall 6 Stand A26). Business partners Gary Wills and Myles Davis will be hosting the Marchesini stand, which has been set-up to showcase the horizontal continuous-motion cartoning machine MA 352 and the MF 910 Mini wrapper/overwrapper. Working together, these two machines create a combi unit capable of meeting every need of versatility and speed to package different types of products, such as blisters, syringes, vials and rigid and squeezable tubes. Specifically speaking, the machines on show at the exhibition have been purchased by a renowned company of the cosmetics industry that was looking for an end-of-line solution capable of packaging 250 plastic vials a minute.

The Marchesini Group has defined the Agenda of its main events for 2016. On the very first day of the year, the new branch in Moscow will open. These facilities have been built on the solid foundations of the former representation agency. Once it has been inaugurated and well-oiled, this new organisation will strengthen the commercial partnerships with the 30-year consolidated Russian customers. This operation will speed-up the technical and bureaucratic transaction times of machine sales and will guarantee a punctual and customised assistance service, capable of satisfying the needs of Russian customers. It will result in offering a direct approach with this market that could become fundamental not only for the Group’s strategies, but also for the whole “Emiliano-Romagnola” Packaging Valley over the next few years.
The Romaco Group’s decision to purchase the assets of Medipac AB, the Swedish manufacturer of tube filling machines, will strengthen its position in the effervescents sector. The Medipac portfolio will in future be integrated in the Romaco Siebler brand. The contracts were signed on 25/11/2015.
